Learn how to loom knit a colourful DIY patchwork blanket using the garter stitch. Or the Harry Styles sweater!

STEPS
0:00 Intro
1:09 Cast on first square
3:24 Garter stitch
6:56 Bind off to finish square
9:42 Join squares

SUPPLIES
• 610 balls of yarn
• loom (round like 41 peg loom with gauge of 13/16th inch, or a long loom/rake)
• hook
• scissors,
• yarn needle/crochet hook
• measuring tape/ruler

INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE SQUARES
1. Put slipknot on anchor peg. Start casting on at the right side of your loom. Do ewrap knit stitches all the way to the left. I personally used 15 pegs.
2. After you knit the 15th peg, wrap that peg once more, then knit over.
3. Then on 14th peg, do a uknit stitch and knit over. Do this all the way to the right.
4. Once you uknit and knit over the 1st peg, your cast on is done. Remove slipknot now or very soon.
5. Now purl every peg all the way to the left.
6. Then do ewrap knit stitches all the way to the right.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until you've made a square.
My squares with my yarn and my loom and my knitting ended up being 7.5 inches by 7.5 inches (9 cm by 9 cm).
I ended up doing 17 purl rows and 16 knit rows, but that's me!
8. Once you have a square, do the basic bind off. Be a bit loose so the edge doesn't tighten up your square too much.

INSTRUCTIONS TO JOIN SQUARES
1. Arrange your squares on a table or bed to spread out the colours nicely and to alternate between horizontal squares and vertical squares.
2. Sew squares together as strips.
3. Sew strips together to make your blanket.
4. Weave in all ends.
