The Men of Cochayuyo (south pacific seaweed). Subtitles available.
In Rukakura, on the south chilean coast, a few families maintain a centuriesold activity. They collect, harvest and dry cochayuyo, a seaweed with great nutritional properties. With 4,000 bundles they assemble the load and a small caravan of carts, in a slow, sacrificial walk, crosses the nervous course of the asphalt. After a week of selling Cochayuyo in cities, the men from the coast get the money to buy food and other necessities.

Join us on an ethnographic journey to discover Los Hombres del Cochayuyo, a unique group of men living in the remote regions of South America. Experience a fascinating culture and learn about their unique traditions, beliefs, and way of life in this captivating glimpse into their world. A mustwatch for anyone interested in audiovisual ethnography.
