Beyond the icon, it is the woman the documentary talks about, a frail silhouette with pathetic gestures, but an extraordinary personality. Street girl who experienced fame, love and who died almost clandestinely in a rented house in the south of France.
Beyond death, which she said "does not exist", beyond her last days of suffering and solitude, Piaf is a destiny like few others encounter.
She so fully, so strongly personalized French song that, forty years after her death, people are still looking for descendants of her... In vain. Piaf was not just Piaf.
