LOST RAILWAY SOUTH DEVON

Follow
GULL PERCH FLYER

In this film we take a look at the former Primrose Line, looking at Brent Station before moving down to Avonwick Station at Benecknowle.
Avonwick Station closed in 1963 and was abandoned until purchased in 1971 by Bob and Beryl Gale who converted the station as their family home.
Just a few miles down the Avon River we happen across Gara Bridge Station close to Curtisknowle. Gara Bridge Station had a passing loop and a level crossing across the lane, it too closed in 1963 and has now been converted as a residential property. Next stop down the Avon is Loddiswell Station closed in 1963 and purchased by John and Sheila Hall who converted the station to a very fine home. A replica signal box has been built in the grounds and now owned by Richard and Nikki Curzon.
