Joe C. Maynard collected his second Top Alcohol Dragster win of the season and the second of his young career, defeating world champ Jule Nataas in the final round, Maynard, winner earlier this year in Gainesville, was in the 5.20s on three of four runs in eliminations, including the final where his 5.27 defeated Nataas’ troubled 6.67.

Top Alcohol Car Funny Car points leader Sean Bellemeur added his fifth win of the season and the 41st of his career with another powerful victory. The Killers B team of Bellemeur, tuner Steve Boggs, and team owner Tony Bartone, powered their way past Bob McCosh in the final round. 5.51 to 5.52 to notch their seventh win in the last eight events at MAX Dragway.

Comp veteran Larry Pritchett, a twotime U.S. Nationals winner, scored his first national event victory in more than 20 years, taking his A/SM Sunfire to an easy finalround victory after Jared Kimbrough redlighted in his C/ED.

Logan Belanger joined his father, Stephen as an NHRA national event winner when he drove to the Super Stock title in Charlotte. Belanger scored the win after championship contender Monty Bogan fouled.

Tim Barrett gave up a slight lead to Kenny Anderson in the headsup, no breakout Stock final but ran him down, 10.915 to 11.054 in a battle of G/SA entries.

Homestate hero Ray Miller III reached double digits in career national event wins with a finalround victory in Super Comp over fourtime tour winner and past Charlotte victor Jack Sepanek, 8.93 to 8.94. Miller also has wins in Super Gas and Top Dragster.

One week after claiming victory at the Pep Boys NHRA Nationals in Reading, David Morris was back in the Super Gas winner’s circle with his ‘69 Camaro, taking a nailbiting win over Tim Powell who took too much stripe and broke out by just a thousandth of a second with a 9.899.

Chad Taylor collected his fourth NHRA national event win and second in the Right Trailers Top Dragster class after stopping Chuck Krepela in the final. Taylor used a 7.157 on his 7.10 dial to finish the job while Krepela managed to solidify his spot in the Top 10.

Tyler Caheely defeated world champion Sandy Wilkins in the Right Trailers Top Sportsman final to claim his fourth national event title. Caheely was first off the starting line and won with a 6.955 on his 6.92 dial.
