Lynyrd Skynyrd is one of those bands that you can never take off your mind, their contribute to rock and roll is seen decades after their releases.
Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama are anthems of the Southern Rock genre, their popularity has helped the band take an undisputed spot in Pop Culture.

Hi guys and welcome to Historicly, in today's video using Age Progression we will see how the members that tragically passed away, would look like if they were alive today.

Donald Evans, the aspiration to become a musician was seen when he was only five years old, he was keen on musical instrument at 15 he picked up the guitar and the rest is history, he joined Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2001 replacing Leon Wilkerson as bassist. He passed away in 2009, he was diagnosed with cancer a year prior.

Hughie Thomasson is best remembered as the founding member of Outlaws. His band was big in the late 70s and early 80s with a bunch of hits. Allen Collins was one of the founding members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, he cowrote many of the songs. There is a funny story of how he joined Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allen owned all of his equipment to be a guitarist, however, when Zant and Burns approached him to join, Allen was scared because of their reputation and climbed up a tree, we are thankful that he went down, we would have not had Free Bird without him. He passed away in 1990 from chronic pneumonia.

Billy Powell came from a military family, he was a close friend to Wilkerson, initially he worked as a roadie for the band, during a break at an event, he set down and started playing the piano, it was then when the band offered him the role of the keyboardist, in 1972. He wasa with the band until his death in 2009 which came from a heart attack.

Bob Burns was the drummer in the original lineup of the legenday rock band. He was a founder along with Van Zant, He left the band in 1974 because it is believed that he suffered a mental breakdown, he passed away in 2015 after hitting a mailbox and a tree.

Steven Gaines was the guitarist and backing vocalist of the lgendary band Lynyrd Skynyrd. It was seeing the Beatles perform what kindled a drive in him to bother his father to get him a guitar. His guitar picking skills are best seen on the Street Survivors album. Unfortunately his glory did not last long as he passed away in the infamous plane crash in 1977.

Leon Wilkeson was a bassist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, he was influenced and inspired by the Beateles, having Paul McCartney as his idol. He was approached by Van Zant's sister and joined his band the Collegiates before having to drop out of the group.
