Author Douglas Murray says French President Emmanuel Macron has “unleashed terrible forces” on the country following the farleft’s victory in the recent election.

Mr Murray said it is the fault of Mr Macron for his “hubris” that riots broke out in the street following the election.

It comes after France’s farRight party lost to the farleft in a shock election result.

“Paris is about to host the Olympics, what a sign to the world,” Mr Murray said.

“The world’s eyes are going to be on Paris and we see this … my belief is that political extremism can come from any direction.

“Macron has unleashed terrible forces and it’s astonishing for a man who glided into office on his alleged ability to sort of bring people together.”
