Mafia's Fairplay mission: a better racing game than Spirit Of Speed 1937?

Follow
Timberwolf

In this video, I compare games from completely different genres because both feature 1930s car racing, and both are rather infamous for their treatment of it. But is a difficult mission better than a game which is difficult to enjoy in any way whatsoever?

(I mean, we kinda have a foregone conclusion here)

Yes, it's time to challenge Timberwolf. First to complete Mafia's notoriously difficult race mission, and then to attempt to derive any joy whatsoever from playing Spirit Of Speed 1937. Only one of which he manages. And when the virtual dust has settled, I decide: just which is the better simulation of 1930s Grand Prix racing?

Hearing about different experiences and what things were like in other countries adds a lot to the video! Please try to do so in a positive way while remembering that if I had to explain every minor international difference the video would be 2 hours long and boring, rather than 26 minutes long and boring. Failing that, at least make me laugh.

Bonus fact: if it wasn't for the inclusion of SafeDisc, Mafia would run perfectly on a modern operating system.
