Full tour of the National Palace of Mafra, also known as the Royal Palace and Convent of Mafra. Located in the town of Mafra, approximately 40 km (25 miles) northwest of Lisbon, Mafra Palace is a sprawling complex that combines a royal palace, a basilica, a convent and a library with over 36,000 rare books. The facade of the palace is over 220 meters (720 feet) long. The whole complex has around 1200 rooms, more than 4700 doors and windows, and 156 staircases and 29 courtyards and halls.
