Choosing black for a table finish is NOT my first choice, but my daughter made that request to fit in with her existing decor, including black kitchen cabinets and black quartz countertops. This amazing mid century modern style table starts as a super heavy duty table made with sturdy white ash wood, more than an inch thick on the table top and with tapered legs two and a half inches thick. The Minwax True Black finish doesn't hide the wood grain either, actually highlighting the figure in the wood, much like seeing the body lines on a black painted car.

This insane looking table is now a family heirloom, built to stand the test of time, and ready for delivery to our daughter, her hubby and our new granddaughter as well. With safety in mind, we even rounded all the table corners to make sure the little ones don't get injured if they should bump into the legs or the top. I'm very proud of this design and the finished outcome.
