Making a NEW Trunnion for BIG D11T Bulldozer! | Machining u0026 Welding

Cutting Edge Engineering Australia

Watch us transform a chunk of steel plate into a critical component for a giant bulldozer cylinder! We’re making a new trunnion for a D11T bulldozer’s blade lift cylinder barrel. We start with a thick piece of flame cut 350 grade steel plate and transform it on our trusty lathe. We start by turning the ends into spigot pins, the crucial connection points for the yoke bearings. Then we bore out the centre to the precise size for fitting over the barrel. We then show the fitting of the new trunnion on to our newly machined cylinder barrel before welding it out with dual shield wire. What do you think of this transformation!?

In this video we are using:
Hafco TM1740G Centre lathe
Hafco BM63VE Milling machine
WIA 500i Weldmatic welder
