Making a Shark Puzzle Magnet with Laser Cutter u0026 Woodworking

In this video we will be making a new item with our Xtool M1 10w laser cutter and engraver. I was struck by the thought that a magnetic shark puzzle would be a cool item to try and sell in person at craft fairs and events. You can use a scroll saw and template to accomplish this as well, but the laser is a huge time saver and key to batching these out. We'll start with a scrap piece of African Mahogany for this. We use African Mahogany for mobile phone passive amplifiers as well as cribbage boards.

You'll need some magnets as well. The good news is that because each puzzle piece is so small, there is not a lot of weight for each magnet to hold up. You can get away with pretty much any sized magnet for this. We would definitely recommend using a two part epoxy resin to bind the metal magnets to wood. It is a lot more reliable in the long run.
