As satisfying as tube based transmitters are to operate, a drifting VFO, or being rockbound by your collection of crystals, can be a problem. Modern VFO technology, including digital signal generators, often lack enough voltage output to drive the oscillator in a tube rig. Greg Latta, AA8V demonstrates a simple, low cost way to drive your vintage transmitter with a solid state VFO.
