Aluminum isopropoxide is important to carry out Oppenauer oxidations and MPV reductions.
To make the aluminum isopropoxide, I will use mercuric chloride that was made in a previous video. I will then carry out an MPV reduction using the aluminum isopropoxide to eventually make 1octen3ol, something I have been working towards for a while.
NOTE: Around 5 minutes, I made a mistake and wrote "hydriodic acid" instead of "hydrogen gas"
