In this video I'm making the recently discovered broadspectrum antibiotic Arsinothricin. An arsenicbased nonproteinogenic amino acid analog of glutamic acid. It is an inhibitor of the glutamine synthethase enzyme. Some researchers are working on developing a more convenient synthetic route to Arsinothricin, which would be useful in larger scale production and for tests in trials. It has been decades since a new class of antibiotics has entered the market. In this video, I am following the most recent developed route.
