Making Ethoxypillar[6]arene - The Future of Drug Delivery?

In this video I'm tackling another cool looking molecule called ethoxypillar[6]arene, belonging to the class of pillararenes. Pillararenes have only been in the picture since 2008 and are therefore a very new class of molecules with few applications. Yet, there is interest in using it for drug delivery, especially pillar[6]arenes which can hold large molecules (like many drugs are) inside their structure. The whole complex has a different polarity than a drug alone, therefore the complex could pass into parts of the body the drug wouldn't be able to go alone.

Procedure that i followed:

Much praise to the scientists who developed this method and made pillar[6]arenes accessible. I'll be following with curiosity if pillar[6]arenes will be applied in any drug delivery methods.
