The technology behind vinyl records hasn’t changed much since the 1940s, but Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland brings vinyl pressing into the 21st century.

@gottagrooverecs started up in 2009, and has since worked on over 10,000 vinyl releases from musical artists all over the world.

“Whoever wants a record made, we’ll make it for them,” said Heath Gmucs, Gotta Groove’s production manager. “We have customers in Tokyo, we have customers in Australia, we have customers in the UK, we have customers three blocks from here.”

For musicians around northeast Ohio, having a record pressing plant that’s local is certainly unique to this area.

“You get to show up to the plant, pick up your record, meet the people that made your record,” Gmucs said. “A lot of people that work here are musicians, so it just brings everything full circle. It’s just another piece of the puzzle that pulls the arts scene together.”
