I was asked to 3d Model and CNC carve this viola back. This work would be quite strenuous by hand in such figured maple. I hope this becomes a beautiful instrument and that the hands of the maker can finish this part into something extraordinary. The ability to concentrate the effort fo the maker on the details that matter and remove the stresses of roughing parts like these make the CNC a valuable tool for luthiers.
