Marc Struelens and colleagues | Genomic surveillance of pathogens

Follow
Frontiers

In this Frontiers Forum Deep Dive session on 5 June, Prof Marc Struelens, Prof Guido Werner, Prof Vitali Sintchenko, and Prof Margaret Ip explored the power of pathogen genomic data for informing public health responses and treatments to protect the world against the next pandemic. They were joined by Dr Josefina Campos and Dr Stephen Morse for a panel discussion and audience Q&A.

The session brought together the authors of the Frontiers in Science lead article ‘Realtime genomic surveillance for enhanced control of infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance’ to advocate for integration of pathogen genomic data and epidemiological data into globally interconnected One Health surveillance systems.
