Maria Theresa Of Savoy Unloved At Court Maria Theresa of Savoy was born on January 31, 1756, in the palace of Turin, Sardinia and died in Graz, Austria on June 2, 1805. She was one of the members of the royal family of France due to her status of "Countess of Artois" as the wife of CharlesPhilippe of France, the later Charles X of France. Maria Theresa was also the mother of the last direct heirs of the House of Bourbon, as the direct branch died out a generation later.
