Mark O'Connor Band at the 2019 Targhee Bluegrass Festival August 9 2019

Here's the Mark O'Connor Band from their Targhee performance on Friday evening right before Sam Bush. In 2017, the band received a GRAMMY Award for Best Bluegrass Album for their debut recording, "Coming Home". They dropped the "Family Band" moniker though it's still Mark on fiddle, mandolin, and guitar with his wife Maggie on fiddle and vocals along with son Forrest on mandolin and vocals and daughterinlaw Kate Lee on fiddle and vocals, with National Flatpick Guitar Champion Joe Smart adding his tasty licks and Geoff Saunders on bass keeping the bottom strong.
The band members were instructors at the Targhee Music Camp the week prior to the festival and did a free show on Thursday night that just rocked. Mark was part of the bluegrass super group "Strength In Numbers" with Sam Bush, Bela Fleck, Jerry Douglas and Edgar Meyer. When Mark did "Macedonia" with Forrest on Thursday night, which he cowrote with Sam Bush for the "Strength In Numbers" album (a classic from 1989), you knew Sam would be there for this show's performance of that tune and the three of them created one of the first highlights of the festival.
The visual effects of the sun going down behind the stage will disappear about 8 minutes in.

Big thanks to my "Targhee Fest Family" members Russ and Brooke, who charged my camera batteries every night and made show taping possible.
