Canson Mixed media journal 138lbs or Canson XL 140 lb paper is great greater than 98 lbs is ideal.

Mechanical pencil /ballpoint pen is great for going over the transfer paper. Use the dark side down, and place the image over top.

Waterbased acrylic paint pens : Sharpie WATER based in silver, white, black, gold.  Also "Posca Pens" Japanese acrylic paint pens ,black .7mm round tip is a fave.
