Next up is the Marlin Model 989 M2 circa 1966 chambered for .22 long rifle which was made to emulate the US M1 Carbine rifle. This one was a detachable box magazine fed follow up to the tube magazine fed Model 99 M1. Made from 1965 to 1978 with a genuine American Walnut stock and very distinctive unique handguard, these were very popular and the detachable box magazine was the obviously much preferred model.
