What may well be the most diverse class of correctional professionals ever to graduate took the oath and got their badges. Fortyfive men and women who hail from nine countries were welcomed into the Public Safety family during a formal academy graduation ceremony yesterday.

The new officers were born in the US, Guatemala, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Cameroon, the Dominican Republic, Nigeria, Bermuda, and Trinidad and Tobago. The class includes a large contingent from Puerto Rico.

DPSCS continues to make recruitment and retention a top priority.
