This stunning Victorian mansion was built in the late 1800’s, between 18851890. The original family the home was built for farmed the land and used it for cattle and grazing land, the home was built as a summer getaway from the hot summers in D.C for a well off doctor who farmed and raised cattle as a side business. The house had live in caretakers and maids for the animals and maintaining the large 14 room home. The mansion features a secondary smaller staircase from the kitchen leading to a small bedroom for a live in maid. Sometime in the 1980’s the maintenance and repairs of the large house became too much and it was vacated, only occasionally being used as a haunted house around Halloween time. Also was supposedly used in a movie but I can’t find any proof of that. Beautiful old Victorian house with incredible architecture and details.
