Massive Monitor Lizard Swims across Lake

Once in a lifetime capture.
I was out on my kayak paddling around Turros Lake photographing shore birds when I turned and spotted this massive Lace Monitor walking across a sand bank in the middle of the Lake.
Thankfully, at the time, I was using my Olympus camera fitted with a 100400 lens to get these long shots, and then remembered I had packed my GoPro for that "just in case" moment.
It was then I realised I was about to capture something special, this apex predator "swimming", on the prowl, across the lake to an area known for nesting shorebirds.
Lace Monitors, sometimes called Tree Goannas, are terrestrial reptiles and are most commonly known for their ability to easily climb trees in search of food.
Lace monitors can grow up to 2.5 m in length, and weigh in excess of 20 kg
