WATCH PART ONE HERE    • Attempting to summit Australia's 11 h...  

Day two of our hike to Australia's 11 highest peaks ended up throwing our original plans out the window as the weather wasn't great and we ended up having 10hours of nonstop thunderstorms.

Our day began with a sunrise hike up to the summit of Mount Northcote (2,131m), Australia's 11th tallest mountain. The sunrise was incredible and we had such a clear view.

Next up was Mount Kosciuszko summit, even though we summited it for sunset the night before! Mt Kosciuszko is Australia's tallest mountain at 2,228m above sea level.

We then made our way to Etheridge Ridge (2,180m), Australia's 5th tallest mountain before continuing on to Seamans Hut. We had lunch inside the hut as it was good break from the strong winds and decided our travel plans for the afternoon.

Our plan was to head for Cootapatamba Hut, a unique bright red survival hut out in the wilderness. It took about 1.5hours offtrail to get there but was SO worth it. We set up our tent next to the alpine hut but you'll have to watch the video to see what happened when the storm hit!
