Whether you're planning a visit, study, work, or immigration to the United States, understanding the visa interview procedure is crucial. In today’s video, I'll guide you through the key steps, requirements, and tips to ace your interview and enhance your chances of securing your US visa. I’ll also share all the questions that were asked during my US visa interview process and the answers that I gave for your reference, my visa application was for B1/B2 visa. This video is based completely on my own visa interview process which started in May 2023 and finished in January 2024.

I’ve divided the video into two parts as the interview takes place in two phases fingerprint scanning and photograph taking, and the actual visa interview with a visa officer.

Documents needed for fingerprint scanning and photographtaking:

1. Passports
2. Photographs 02
3. DS 160
4. Appointment confirmation page

Documents needed for Visa Interview:

1. Passport Issued within the last 10 years and with at least 06 months validity after the scheduled return, with at least two blank pages (attach all the old passports)
2. 02 fresh recent photos
3. DS 160 confirmation page (Kindly take a print only first Page 01 set copy)
4. USA visa appointment confirmation page (Kindly take print out page no 1 to 4 01 set copy)
5. Last 3 years IT papers
6. Last 03 months' bank statement (signed and stamped by the bank)
7. Any Fixed Deposit Certificate, Property Papers, PPF Account, LIC Certificate
8. Demat Statement & Mutual funds, if any
9. Original Birth Certificate, All Original educational qualification certificate, original school/ college ID card if student below/above 18 years Age
10 . If the applicant has his/her own business like Partner/Proprietor/Director, please provide as applicable: Company Incorporation certificate, memorandum of association, partnership deed, if proprietorship company registration copy, GST registration with annexe A & B (03 Pages Copy ) with photo and applicant’s name should be mentioned in it.
11. Invitation Letter should be addressed To Consul General, The American Consulate, C49, GBlock, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East), Mumbai 400 051, Maharashtra the letter should mention applicant name, valid passport no, duly signed, purpose of visit, travel date etc

Photograph requirement:

1. Photos with white background
2. 2 inch X 2 inch
3. It should be clear with a white background & matte finish
4. 70% face Coverage along with 30% shoulder coverage
5. Without sunglasses which has not been used in any previous visas
6. Do not wear a white shirt for the photograph
