The United States has the highest rate of maternal death of any wealthy country–and it's the only industrialized country where death rates are rising rather than falling.

Maternal sepsis is the second leading cause of maternal death.

Black women are three times as likely to die as a result of pregnancy and childbirth as white women.

In conjunction with the New York State Department of Health, we've been working to develop an evidencebased campaign to educate all women about the dangers and signs of maternal sepsis–with a special emphasis on reaching those most at risk.
