Maurice Ravel's 'Jeux d'Eau' (water games) is one of the most iconic impressionist pieces, with the characteristic pentatonic and whole tone scales, chords with many extensions and the aim to illustrate a natural phenomenon such as water. Yet, as Ravel stated himself, it follows a 'classical' sonata structure. Here is my analysis.
