He discovers one of the longest freight trains in the world, the way the people of the desert live and also some rare gems like the Amogjar Pass and its abandoned fort, the town of Tergit, an oasis straight out of the Thousand and Une Nuits, where divorces are an opportunity to party, and Chinguetti, the "Sorbonne of the desert", a city which contains around thirty libraries, like treasures hidden behind thousandyearold walls.
