The history of Kyiv hides many unknowns.
Was Kyiv really the way we used to see it on plans and reconstructions from books of the 1980s?
New research provides more and more new information about ancient Kyiv, changes and complements our ideas about the history of the city.

What territory did medieval Kyiv occupy in the XIXIII centuries?

This question is investigated by a professional team of historians, archaeologists and architects in the 3rd series of the documentary film "Millennium Kyiv. The city where the history of Kyivan Rus began."
You will learn what territories medieval Kyiv occupied during its greatest development, from the 11th to the 13th centuries.
You will see where the famous "Yaroslav's ramparts" passed, how they were built and what the Golden and Lyad gates to Upper Kyiv might have looked like.
You will visit the home of an ordinary resident of Kyiv's Podol of the 11th century and see how people lived at that time.

We recommend reading a children's book on this topic "The Adventures of Mark in Princely Kyiv". This is a time travel book through ancient Kyiv. The author is a candidate of historical sciences, head of the research department of archeology of the KyivPechersk Lavra, scientific consultant of our project S. Taranenko.
