In this video he speaks about a common kidneyrelated disease of children – ‘Blood in Urine’. Blood in Urine or Proteins in Urine are generally not observed unless a urine test is done for the kid. But, the damage that is done can even lead to permanent failure of kidney in kids. So, it is extremely important to keep a check on kidney functions of kids. If the disease is diagnosed timely, it can not only prevent damage of kidneys, but it can also cure the damaged kidney.

If this disease is genetic, it needs to be evaluated thoroughly by specialises tests like Biopsy and Electron microscopy. The parents need to strictly examine if there's a swelling in any part of the body or the kid is not urinating appropriately or there is an increased blood pressure. In any of such scenarios, it is appropriate to consult a paediatric nephrologist. The kid will be thoroughly investigated in hospital by daily Kidney function tests, daily urine output, weight and blood pressure monitoring.
