30 years ago, MercedesBenz India began their operations with the W124 EClass. The W124 MercedesBenz EClass is known for its legendary build quality, and it's evident in the condition most of these 124s are even today. The W124 EClass brought in many firsts in India the first car to have dual airbags, the first car to have all four discs, the first car to have seatbelt pretensioners and many more. But all of that came at a price ₹22 lakh including options. To put it in perspective, the Maruti 800 was then priced around ₹2.5 lakh. The W124 was one of the most luxurious cars available in India. It was sold with several engine options, and its ride quality was impeccable. Still is by today's standards.
