Methemoglobin: a changed hemoglobin

Methemoglobinemia is a disease where the normal ferrous hemoglobin is changed into abnormal ferric hemoglobin.

We treat the disease with:
Mild cases: Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid) and vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Severe cases: methylene blue, Oxygen, bicarbonate, and IV hydration.
