In the previous tutorial we introduced antirheumatic drugs called DMARDs. Now let's discuss in greater detail a particular small molecule DMARD called methotrexate. This was originally designed to be an anticancer drug, but it was fortuitously found to be effective against rheumatoid arthritis, among other inflammatory diseases. How does this drug work?
