Metroid Prime Remastered review/first thoughts is a remastered version of Metroid Prime that was released for the Nintendo Switch in 2023. It was announced during a Nintendo Direct on February 8, 2023 and released digitally the same day, with a physical version set to be released on February 22, 2023 in North America and on March 3, 2023 in other regions.

Metroid Prime is an actionadventure game developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo for the GameCube. Metroid Prime is the fifth main Metroid game and the first Metroid to use 3D computer graphics and a firstperson perspective. Since exploration takes precedence over combat, Nintendo classifies the game as a "firstperson adventure" rather than a firstperson shooter. It was released in North America in November 2002, and in Japan and Europe the following year. One day before its North American release, Nintendo released the Game Boy Advance game Metroid Fusion, marking the return of the Metroid series after an eightyear hiatus following Super Metroid (1994)
