Samy, with bright shiney silver teeth, has been working 21 years as a shoe shiner on the street at this traditional Square/Plaza in beautiful Downtown San Cristobal de las Casas.

My black leather men's loafer dress shoes got cleaned and super shined by Samy well.

I am grateful he welcomed me so I can document his skills.

Traveling San Cristobal has been a joy, especially learning more of the Indigenous struggle for equality. This has been my favorite mountain city so far.
