I had to cut the video short as my 7 year old Son came looking for me :)

I'm able to make contacts with this antenna, counterpoise is essential. I am using around 5.5 meters of counterpoise raised off the ground as you'll see in the video. I could not get low SWR with it on the ground, I have read that 2 radials spaced around 180 degrees will achieve low swr when on the ground but I have not tested it yet.

I love the ability to make contacts on such a simple setup, of course my portable 4 band EFHW 49:1 will always work better but it takes more time to set up + a way to mount it + it works 4 bands with no tuner. That's a video for another day.
