Michelle Goodeve's Pietenpol Flight - Arthur Airport to Home - 2010

People have asked for video of a Pietenpol Flight with Natural Sound. So here is a short trip owner Michelle Goodeve made in Ontario, Canada, from Arthur Airport to the "runway" she used to have behind our house in 2010.

This is nothing but raw, helmetmounted footage of that flight for Pietenpol Builders (& Lovers) who want to know how it feels to fly a Pietenpol Aircamper in & out of grass strips/"farmer's fields."

(I'll stress "RAW." Michelle looks around a LOT in her NORDO Piet especially on takeoff & landing as you can see NOTHING straight ahead. FF past sections that make you feel airsick.) LOL

Michelle's Pietenpol Aircamper was designed in 1929 (94 YEARS AGO)!

This particular bird was built in 1972 (making it over HALFACENTURY old).

Michelle purchased the plane in 1979 & rebuilt ALL of it over the years (with help from friends), so she's now owned her Piet for 43+ years.(as of 4/23).

The Engine is a 1946, 65hp Continental (so, the engine is currently 77 years old)!

"The Piet" is constructed of Sitka Spruce wood, covered by "doped" Dacron Fabric.
The Sitka Spruce itself is somewhere between 600 & 800 YEARS OLD!

Several improvements have been made since this video was shot (including a new Tach). LOL
The Piet now takes off faster climbs faster banks quicker and cruises between 7780 mph.

We hope you enjoy this video for what it is: A chance to fly along in the Pilot's seat for a Rural Canada, OpenCockpit Flight in a Classic, historic aircraft.
