Quarterback Jim Harbaugh set a school record with 1,976 passing yards. Four Michigan defenders were selected as firstteam players on the 1985 AllBig Ten Conference football team: Mike Hammerstein and Mark Messner from the defensive line, linebacker Mike Mallory, and Brad Cochran from the secondary.
