Dr. Lori A. Brotto, a distinguished professional in the field of women's sexual health. Dr. Brotto currently holds the position of Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of British Columbia and serves as the Executive Director at the Women’s Health Research Institute. As the Canada Research Chair in Women’s Sexual Health, her research focuses on randomized controlled trials of psychological interventions, such as mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy, addressing issues such as low desire in women and chronic genital pain.

With a PhD in Clinical Psychology from UBC, Dr. Brotto's expertise lies in the psychophysiological aspects of sexual arousal in women. Her work extends to enhancing the quality of life, particularly in the realm of sexual health for cancer survivors. As the Director of the UBC Sexual Health Laboratory, she oversees research equipped with cuttingedge technology, including sexual psychophysiological measures, an eye tracker, and infrastructure supporting salivary hormone collections. In her capacity as Executive Director of the Women’s Health Research Institute, Dr. Brotto collaborates with health authorities, actively contributing to the elevation of research profiles and advocating for women’s research needs across Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) settings.
