Minnihaha falls with its' 50 foot drop is the centerpiece of Minnihaha Park. In 1852 it was used to power a gristmill and a sawmill until it was replaced by a much more powerful St. Anthony Falls.
Minihaha Falls inspired Henry Wadsworth Longfellow to write the "Song of Hiawatha".
