In today’s video, we’ll be going through the biggest issue with Tarkov’s zeroing system currently as of patch 12.12, which causes many players to have problems with hitting targets over distance. The way zeroing is implemented in the game at the moment, means that each weapon is only correctly calibrated for a single round that we will refer to as the “default” round of the weapon. When using any other bullet, the zeroing will be off my an amount that depends on both the difference in muzzle velocities of the two bullets, and also the difference between their ballistic coefficients.

This is most noticeable when using subsonic rounds in weapons that generally are supersonic, eg the US rounds for 7.62 and 5.45, but can also show up in other places too where rounds have dramatically different velocities within the same caliber, such as .366.

The best suggestions to fixing this issue are to include a round calibration setting into the weapons, of which both Tower and DanExert have produced potential solutions to the problem in the posts below:
