Postman, which began as a side project in 2012, has evolved into an industrystandard API platform utilised by over 30 million developers and 5,00,000 organisations, including 98% of the Fortune 500 enterprises. Valued at $5.6 billion, Postman surpasses Freshworks in valuation and stands as India's most valued SaaS unicorn.

In an interview with CNBCTV18’s Shereen Bhan on the "Voices from the Valley" show, Abhinav Asthana, CEO & CoFounder of Postman, outlined the company's mission: to create 100 million connected developers and realise the vision of an APIfirst world.

Nexus Venture Partners, known for backing breakout enterprise software companies, made one of the earliest institutional investments in Postman in 2016. This investment was led by Jishnu Bhattacharjee, Managing Director at Nexus, who specialises in data, AI, SaaS, and DevOps.

Founded in 2006, Nexus Venture Partners has invested in over 75 enterprises and more than 150 tech startups, managing assets totalling $2.6 billion. Notable companies in the Nexus portfolio include Zomato, OLX, Unacademy, Snapdeal, Ultrahuman, and Zepto.

Both Asthana and Bhattacharjee expressed enthusiasm about the potential of AI, though they acknowledged that sustainable use cases are still emerging.
