Materials: Can be made in any yarn with appropriate needles but I used two skeins of Bernat Softee Chunky https://amzn.to/3F9SqO9 (amazon affiliate link) and size 11/8.00mm knitting needles.

Pattern: Cast on 21 stitches. See note below if you want to adjust the stitch count!
Knit 6 rows for garter stitch border.
Pattern row: K3, *k2, p2. Rep from *until 6 sts remain, k2, p1, k3.
Repeat pattern row until scarf is almost to the length you desire or you are about to run out of yarn!
Knit six rows, bind off knitwise.

TO ADJUST WIDTH
You want your beginning and end border to be the same I used 3 stitches on each side but you can use any number.
For the center section to work though you must use a multiple of 4 + 3. In the case of the pattern shown my center section was 15 3 multiples of 4 (12) + 3 (15). So your math will be border center section is X x 4 +3 second border.
