In this project I’m making a mixed media wand using a found stick* and a crystal point joined together with wire and polymer clay. I embellish the metallic gold polymer clay with pre baked pieces of textured polymer clay from my stud earring collection and filigree spirals before adding highlights of mica powders.

This is not a step by step tutorial but more of an inspiration project. I do include tips for when it’s important to use liquid polymer clay to join different materials together and it’s a bit of a behind the scenes look at my creative process.

If you are using sticks or wood in a project it's a good idea to do a test back first to check that they do not release a lot of sap during baking.
