Noinput mixing is a fascinating way to get sounds out of an ordinary mixer by patching its outputs to various input channels which creates feedback loops inside the mixer. But be aware of the levels! They can change drastically when you touch the knobs and faders, so be careful.

So if you have an old unused mixer, don't throw it away, it's a great instrument! ;)
The patching I used in this experiment goes as follows:
Phones out to Line in 1
Left record out to Line in 2 (only on layer 1)
Right record out to Line in 3 (only on layer 1)
Aux send out to Line in 4
Effect send out to Line in 5
In the second half of layer 2 I removed the cable from the effect send output which activates the builtin BBDdelay.

The main out goes to the Circuit Tracks external inputs which I use to control the level and for adding delay + reverb effects. All sounds you hear are created by the mixer itself.

I recorded two improvised takes with this setup and then realized that it sounds quite nice if I layer them together.
