Watch how the MMDA are removing water hyacinths from the Pasig River to ensure the Ferry Service can operate without disruption.

Aside from using cranes and backhoes to remove the water lilies, they have two new skimmer boats.

The two new boats were custom made to the specifications of 'Save the Sea Inc', as part of their corporate social responsibility efforts.

The boats were made in China, dismantled, shipped to the Philippines and then reassembled and loaned to the DENR. The DENR then passed them onto the MMDA, to enhance their existing waterhyacinth operations.

The MMDA operate a similar boat from another manufacturer, but it's in the Malacanang area. For security reasons, It's prohibited to take photos or videos in that area strictly enforced by the Philippine Coast Guard
