In a recent video, I talked about my (late and now returned/refunded) Roland SE02 that died after just a few hours of use. I asked, and wondered, if I should replace it with another SE02 or get something else entirely.

I made the decision to go with the Modal Skulpt. I could not be happier.

I plugged in, ran through all the presets, familiarized myself with the control layout and just ran my camera and hit record on Reaper. Aside from the Valhalla Room Reverb (set to dark space), all sounds and effects are direct from the Skulpt.

I immediately took to this synth. Build quality and sound wise it is a world away from the Roland, but I am so happy with the sound this makes and the controls. When I'm not playing this synth, I am thinking about it. I am seriously in love.
